New York Medical University is located on the Caribbean island of Curacao named after the Bearded Fig Trees found across the island. If hiking, walking on the beach or simply being outside in a beautiful environment appeals to you, then you will find Curacao a very special place.


The island is twenty-one miles long and fourteen miles wide. Curacao is completely surround by the Atlantic Ocean and is the eastern most island in the Lesser Antilles. Curacao is currently the third oldest parliment in the world and has been in operation since 1639.

From white-sand beaches to expansive golf-courses, Curacao is a blend of modern comforts and Caribbean paradise. Curacao gained independence from Britain in 1966 but British influence on the island can be found  from horse racing, cricket matches, to colonial style architecture.
